ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The Artist Residency Program consists of a series of workshops (45-60 minutes), designed to provide standards-based arts education in schools, where a teaching artist brings professional experience, skills, and content knowledge in an art form, and collaborates with teachers to integrate the arts. Students learn arts content, skills, and vocabulary in the art form. In addition, students are given the opportunity to develop self-expression, communication, and collaboration. Program components include a teachers’ meeting, introduction to the arts discipline, a sequence of learning (4-12 workshops per classroom), and a student culmination.
