MUSIC & MIME

Students are introduced to Classical Music and the Art of Mime and Pantomime. Students learn fundamental skills in both art forms to bring the characters of various stories to life with music. Students learn steady beat, active listening, and musical concepts (such as piano/forte and legato/staccato). In Mime, students learn how to tell a story by using their bodies and facial expressions to bring the characters to life physically, while creating a sense of their surrounding environment.

SHADOW PUPPETRY & THEATRE

Students learn about the history of shadow puppets and design and create their own, based on imagery in poetry. Puppetry movement techniques and sound correlation are introduced. In theatre, students learn elements such as choral reading, giving and taking focus, voice projection, articulation, and staging.

L.A. Arts Group can work with teachers and administrators to combine various arts disciplines to create an integrated and dynamic program, based on learning goals and objectives. Please let us know if you would be interested in a multi-disciplinary residency.
